01- Choose the right wheel for the right job;
02- Conduct a
sound test and visually check the grinding wheel;
03- Make sure
the grinding wheel is not cracked;
04- Never exceed
the grinding wheel’s maximum speed;
05- Do not alter
the size of the hole and do not force the wheel onto
the arbor;
06- Make sure
the flanges have the same diameter (at least 1/3 the
wheel diameter) and that they are clean and parallel;
07- Use a blotter
between the flanges and the wheel. Blotters should
not be altered in any way;
08- The flanges
should be just tight enough to securely hold the grinding
wheel;
09- Always use
safety eye goggles;
10- Adjust the
safety guard before turning on the machine;
11- Adjust the
work rest, making sure there is 2 mm of clearance
between the rest and the wheel. This clearance should
be continually adjusted;
12- After turning
on the machine, let the wheel spin freely for two
minutes;
13- When turning
on the machine, never stand directly in front of the
wheel;
14- Make sure
that contact between the wheel and the workpiece is
smooth - avoid impacts;
15- Dress wheel
at regular intervals, or whenever the wheel surface
becomes loaded;
16- Loading results
in overheating and possible breakage;
17- Turn off
the coolant before turning off the machine. This will
keep the wheel from becoming unbalanced;
18- Never grind
on the side of a straight grinding wheel;
19- Never force
a workpiece against a wheel, or a wheel against a
workpiece. If you sense heating or a change in wheel
speed, stop work and check the wheel;
20- When mounting
a new wheel to the machine, verify that the machine
speed is not set beyond the maximum speed of the new
wheel.

Standards).
- When operating
a grinding wheel, you should understand and follow
